About this asset

This modern recessed ceiling panel set for SketchUp features a clean rectangular form with integrated perimeter downlights. These modular ceiling panels feature a stepped, recessed rectangular geometry, creating a subtle coffered effect suitable for contemporary interiors. The design includes a flat central plane framed by a deep, tiered border. Integrated into the outer frame are small, circular downlight fixtures arranged at regular intervals, providing a uniform lighting distribution. The composition is finished in a neutral, light tone, typical of matte plaster or painted gypsum board. This set includes two identical units, allowing for symmetrical placement within a room layout or configuration as part of a larger, repetitive ceiling treatment.

The download is an 8.2 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 2 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these panels are best utilised as individual components. Users should place them within a group representing the ceiling plane to ensure alignment with the room's structural grid. Because the lighting is modelled into the geometry, apply emissive materials to the circular light sources to achieve a realistic glow during rendering. Scale the components as a single unit if necessary to fit specific room dimensions, and use the native layer manager to control visibility during the modelling process.

Ideal for residential living rooms, high-end hotel lobbies, or modern office boardrooms, these ceiling panels add depth and architectural interest to otherwise plain surfaces. They pair well with minimalist interior styles and can be used to delineate specific zones within an open-plan space, such as dining areas or reception desks. Professionals typically search for these when specifying custom ceiling details, decorative plasterwork, or integrated lighting systems for high-quality architectural visualisations and interior design projects requiring precise, clean-lined ceiling solutions.
