Oriental Folding Screen with Painted Landscape Panels

This six-panel Oriental folding screen for SketchUp features intricate traditional landscape painting on paper-backed wood frames. Constructed as a six-panel folding screen, this piece features a slender, warm-toned timber frame surrounding delicate paper panels. Each panel displays a continuous traditional ink-wash style landscape, depicting pagodas, bamboo, and mountain silhouettes in muted earth tones of brown and beige against an off-white background. The panels are connected by flexible hinges, allowing for a zig-zag or semi-curved configuration. The proportions are elegant and vertical, designed to act as a lightweight room divider or decorative focal point, providing a sense of depth and cultural texture to an interior space.

The download is a 30.5 MB file containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is managed as a single component with nested groups for each panel, allowing for easy adjustment of the folding angle using the rotate tool. The textures are mapped onto individual faces, ensuring the landscape mural aligns across the panels. For high-quality renders, ensure the paper material has appropriate translucency settings if backlighting is intended. Users should place this asset on a dedicated layer to maintain scene organisation, especially when integrating it into larger interior design project files.

This screen is suitable for residential living rooms, boutique hotel lobbies, or quiet reading corners where a subtle, decorative partition is required. It pairs well with minimalist or Japandi furniture, adding a touch of traditional artistry to contemporary spaces. Architects and designers can specify this piece for projects requiring spatial definition without permanent construction.
