About this asset

This modern modular ceiling panel set for SketchUp features a basket-weave slat pattern with integrated linear and spot lighting. This modular ceiling system consists of two square panels featuring a high-contrast basket-weave pattern. Each panel is constructed from parallel linear slats, with one variant finished in matte black and the other in a natural timber tone. The central assembly is framed by a solid white perimeter border, which houses a series of recessed downlights. Integrated linear LED strips are embedded within the slat geometry, providing consistent ambient illumination. The design relies on the rhythmic repetition of the slats to create texture and visual depth across a ceiling plane.

The download is a 13 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model holding 2 separate objects. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, these panels are designed for easy integration into reflected ceiling plans. Users should place the components as individual modules, allowing for quick arraying to cover larger ceiling areas. The model maintains clean geometry, making it straightforward to apply custom materials or adjust the light intensity within rendering extensions. Ensure the white perimeter border is aligned with the room's bulkhead or wall edge for a seamless finish, and utilise layers to toggle between the black and timber options as needed.

These ceiling panels are ideal for modern commercial lobbies, high-end residential living rooms, or executive meeting spaces where acoustic or aesthetic ceiling features are required. They pair well with minimalist interior palettes and can be used to delineate specific zones within an open-plan office or restaurant layout. Professionals searching for feature ceiling solutions, modular slat panels, or integrated lighting systems will find these assets highly versatile for developing detailed interior concepts and high-quality visualisations during the design development stage.
