About this asset

This industrial baffle ceiling system for SketchUp features an exposed metal framework with integrated gold-toned linear baffles. Designed for technical and high-ceiling environments, this system comprises a complex grid of structural black steel beams and conduit-like piping. The central feature is a suspended array of parallel gold-finished baffles that provide a rhythmic, high-contrast aesthetic against the dark, utilitarian service layer. The geometry is clean and precise, focusing on the interplay between the heavy, dark structural elements and the lighter, reflective gold slats. This model effectively captures the look of an exposed ceiling plenum where mechanical, electrical, and plumbing runs are intentionally visible as part of the interior design vocabulary.

The download is a 7.8 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model functions as a modular component. Users should place the assembly at the desired ceiling height and align the grid with the structural axes of the project. Since the file contains multiple nested groups for the steel framework and the baffle array, it is best to manage visibility using dedicated tags or layers to toggle between the base structural services and the decorative ceiling elements. Materials are applied to distinct groups, allowing for easy adjustment of metallic finishes.

This ceiling system is suitable for modern office lobbies, contemporary restaurant dining areas, and industrial-style retail showrooms where an exposed aesthetic is required. It integrates well into projects focusing on high-tech or raw architectural styles, pairing effectively with concrete walls, track lighting, and polished floor finishes. Professionals might search for this when specifying ceiling solutions that hide bulkheads while maintaining high clearance, or when creating detailed renders for commercial interiors that require a sophisticated, layered look for the overhead plane.
