Contemporary Grey and Wood Panel Ceiling System

This contemporary modular ceiling system for SketchUp features recessed linear lighting and integrated timber-effect panels. Constructed as a modular assembly, this ceiling system combines a neutral grey perimeter frame with central panels in a warm wood-grain finish. The layout integrates recessed downlights at the north and south ends, while two continuous linear light strips run vertically along the wood sections. The design features precise shadow gaps between panels, creating a clean, structured appearance. The composition is balanced and symmetrical, incorporating functional technical elements like ventilation or acoustic slots in the central section. The finish contrast between the matte grey surround and the rich timber texture provides a refined aesthetic.

The download is a 12.2 MB compressed archive containing the native SketchUp (.skp) model. It opens directly in SketchUp; for 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D, import it through a SketchUp importer or convert it first.

In SketchUp, this model is managed as a grouped assembly, allowing for easy placement and alignment with room geometry. Users can adjust the overall dimensions by scaling the modular panels while maintaining the proportions of the integrated lighting components. Materials are pre-assigned to individual faces, facilitating quick updates to the wood grain or paint colours. The lighting elements are modelled as distinct sub-groups, making it simple to assign emissive material properties for rendering or to replace them with specific light fixtures.
