Yanbian University of Science and Technology, China

Yanbian University of Science and Technology (YUST) was a research university located in Yanji, Jilin, China. Founded in 1992, it was the first Chinese joint-venture university in the Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture. YUST aimed to educate students according to principles of creativity, cooperation, and volunteerism, preparing them to be leaders. The university's academic programs included a Department of Architecture and Art. However, due to the expiration of its contract with the Chinese government, YUST halted its operations in July 2021, with new student enrollments ceasing in 2020. The institution concluded its active period from 1992 to 2021 and is in a transition phase towards becoming a private Chinese university.
