The Architecture extended major prepares you for postgraduate studies by introducing a range of technologies and production methods. You'll be introduced to different technologies and production methods to create drawings, models and prototypes.

This course provides an education in the conceptualization, design, construction and representation of buildings and other structures of a range of types and scales. Students develop an ability to integrate information drawn from a range of subject areas, and acquire advanced knowledge and skills that prepare them for successful careers in the creative and diverse world of architectural practice.

The Master of Architecture (Design) is a program of independent, supervised research leading to the presentation of an exhibition of architectural design equivalent in scope to the schematic design of a building of major cultural significance. Students thrive from the challenge of independent research and the freedom to explore and focus on areas of interest.

The Doctor of Architecture (Design) is an individually focused and supervised professional research program executed in the medium of architectural design. The successful student makes a substantial and original contribution to architecture through the presentation of an exhibition of architectural design.

The Master of Landscape Architecture provides an education in the design, management and resilience of natural and built landscapes to improve the quality and our experience of the environment. Gain the knowledge and skills to respond to complex issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss, urban ecology and water sensitive design by applying systems thinking and creative practice to develop long-term, multi-scale solutions.

The Master of Urban Design allows you to engage with the challenges of this 'urban century' and prepares you to participate in all levels of the urban design profession. You'll gain an in-depth understanding of urban design theories and issues; techniques of urban analysis; and skills for the design and development of cities and urban places.

The Graduate Diploma in Urban Design provides a focused year of urban design history, theory, implementation strategy and studio based learning. The Graduate Diploma builds on the Graduate Certificate and offers you experience as individual designers and as a participant in interdisciplinary groups, assigned to working on the complex nature of urban design issues.

The Graduate Certificate in Urban Design will give you a preliminary overview of sustainable urban design and an introduction to its core principles, theories and practices. You'll develop techniques of urban analysis and design propositions with an orientation to the traditions, aims and means of urban design.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is the University's flagship research degree, which can be taken in any discipline area in the University. The PhD comprises an independent, supervised research project that is mutually agreed upon by a student, supervisor, head of school and the Board of the Graduate Research School.
