To prepare our students to be leaders in a rapidly changing world, our education extends from the mastery of the core discipline to advancing knowledge in emerging areas of practice. Our professional and pre-professional studio-based programs in architecture are invested in design excellence grounded in research, critical thinking, and social engagement. Whether in a Bachelor of Design in Architecture (BDA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) program, students gain insights into the forces that shape places where we work, live, and play. Working across disciplines, students explore the art of design, and build knowledge of professional practice, drawing and visualization, and digital modeling and fabrication techniques. While developing technical and critical skills in architecture, students study its history and theories and the ideas, values, and relationships that have shaped and continue to define the profession.

graduate_phd: Professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree, strong academic record (preferred GPA 3.0), CV, personal statement, diversity statement, writing sample (max 5,000 words), research proposal, portfolio, three letters of recommendation, transcripts. GRE not required for PhD but for some scholarships.
undergraduate: Standardized university admissions. For BS major application after first year: at least 30 college credits, preferred minimum GPA of 2.80, portfolio, and written essays.
graduate_m_arch: Bachelor's degree (any field), preferred GPA > 3.0, portfolio, personal statement, diversity statement, transcripts, three letters of recommendation. GRE waived for M.Arch. International applicants: TOEFL (min. 79 total, 21 writing, 19 reading) or IELTS (min. 6.5 total, 6.5 writing, 6.5 reading).
