The Bachelor's degree program in Architecture at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) is dedicated to forming professionals specialized in the design, evaluation, and construction of diverse buildings and urban spaces. With over 50 years of experience, the program integrates essential knowledge and tools for understanding and valuing the cultural, socioeconomic, and ecological context of architectural projects. It aims to develop a critical vision in architectural design, fostering professionals who contribute to preserving the country's cultural identity and ecological environment, while adapting architecture to contemporary societal needs. Graduates are equipped for roles in urban and rural planning, project promotion and development, design and construction management for various architectural works (agro-industrial, industrial, residential, commercial, office, and tourism), as well as university-level teaching and research. The Licenciatura in Architecture is the first program of its kind in Costa Rica to hold international accreditation from the Central American Agency for Accreditation of Architecture and Engineering Programs (ACCAI).
