About Universiti Malaya

The Faculty of Built Environment (FBE) at Universiti Malaya boasts over two decades of academic and research excellence in design, building, and planning. Its mission is to cultivate global professionals who can significantly contribute to the building and construction industries. The FBE offers five undergraduate and six postgraduate programs, all officially accredited by the Malaysian Qualifying Agency (MQA) and relevant Malaysian Professional Boards. Several programs also hold international accreditation from esteemed bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). The curriculum is designed by field experts to impart the latest skills and knowledge, ensuring students achieve program outcomes and align with Universiti Malaya's vision of global impact. The faculty also aims to strengthen research centers and provide consultation in the built environment.

Requirements
undergraduate: Recognized GCE A-Level qualification with at least Grade B in one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Accounting, or Economics. Minimum 65% marks in Grade 12 for international students. Credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mathematics in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). Minimum Band 2.0 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) or equivalent.
english_language_proficiency: IELTS (6.5), TOEFL iBT (79), or PTE (63). Exemptions are possible for applicants from English-speaking countries or those with prior qualifications from English-medium institutions.
postgraduate_master_of_architecture: CGPA of 3.0 and above, LAM Part 1 accreditation, an overall grade of 'B' or above for Architectural Design Studio in the final semester of the undergraduate degree program, and a minimum of six months of working experience upon completion of the undergraduate degree. A competency interview (interview, portfolio, and technical drawing test) is required. Candidates with CGPA 2.70-2.99 require 24 to 36 months of working experience depending on the Architectural Design Studio grade.
