About Universidade Federal de Pelotas

The Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAUrb) at the Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel) was established shortly after the university's founding, with initial studies dating back to 1970. It was the second architecture course in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, created through Ordinance No. 215 of November 24, 1971. The course aims to train generalist professionals in Architecture and Urbanism, capable of understanding and translating community needs regarding the design, organization, and construction of indoor and outdoor spaces. This includes urban and regional planning, landscaping, urbanism, building design, heritage preservation, environmental balance protection, and rational resource use.
