The Faculty of Architecture and Design at Universidad Rafael Landívar, established over 45 years ago, prepares architects for the design and construction of spaces, transcending current challenges and projecting creative, efficient solutions for the future. The program, 'Licenciatura en Arquitectura', is a five-year daily plan focused on conceptualizing and designing urban and architectural spaces, including residential, commercial, and cultural projects. Students gain critical knowledge of architectural history and theory, understanding their cultural, economic, and socio-political environment, and utilizing advanced technology and construction systems. The curriculum emphasizes areas such as Humanistic (Guatemalan Architecture, Theory, History), Projectual (Architectural, Sustainable, Urban, Interior Design), and Technological (Digital Tools, Construction Systems, Installations). Elective courses allow specialization in areas like Regenerative Design, Urban Design, BIM Methodology, Interior Design, and Real Estate Management. The faculty has graduated over 3,000 professionals and currently serves approximately 1,400 students.
