Universidad Mesoamericana (UMES) is a private, lay higher education institution in Guatemala, officially recognized and approved by the Consejo de la Enseñanza Privada Superior de Guatemala (CEPS). As a member of the Salesian University Institutions (IUS) network, UMES promotes quality learning and research, focusing on student development as competent, ethical, and socially responsible professionals. The Licenciatura en Arquitectura program at its Quetzaltenango campus is a five-year, in-person curriculum. It provides students with tools to design and transform spaces with positive societal impact, combining creativity, technological innovation, and environmental consciousness for sustainable and functional architectural projects. The program prepares architects to design iconic buildings, plan cities, and develop solutions that enhance quality of life. Jorge Leonel Ixquiác Gómez, an architect specialized in Urban Design and Development with a focus on sustainable and inclusive urban policies.
