Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) was established in 2003 by education enthusiast Md. Imamul Kabir Shanto. It is a comprehensive design-based university in Bangladesh, aiming to provide job-oriented, creative, and cultural education. The university was formed by combining Shanto-Mariam Academy of Creative Technology and Shanto-Mariam Institute of Creative Technology, operating under the Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology Trust as per the Private University Act 2010. SMUCT offers academic programs through five faculties: Engineering & Technology, Design & Technology, Business, Humanities & Social Science, and Fine & Performing Arts.
