About Riga School of Design (RDS)

The Riga Technical University Institute of Architecture and Design, established in 2024 through the merger of the Faculty of Architecture and the Institute of Design Technologies, is Latvia's pioneering architecture school with roots tracing back to 1869 at the Riga Polytechnic School. Dedicated to the comprehensive development of architecture, the institute focuses on educating specialists for the Latvian market while fostering international academic exchange. RTU's Bachelor's and Master's programs in Architecture are internationally recognized as complying with the requirements of the Directive 2005/36/EC (amended by 2013/55/EC) of the European Parliament and of the Council on the recognition of professional qualifications. The Architect's Diploma issued by Riga Technical University is notified in Annex 5 and 6 of the Directive. The Bachelor's program in Architecture (ABA0) has accreditation from November 16, 2022, to November 17, 2028, under Accreditation Certificate No 2022/31-A.
