About New University of Lisbon

Architects prepared for the design, rehabilitation and remodeling of buildings, sets of buildings, public and urban spaces, landscape and territory. The scope of their activity covers different functions that range from carrying out projects and plans for housing, public and private services, cultural and educational, health, sports or industrial equipment, to consultancy, expertise, management and direction of construction works. Faced with the challenges of the contemporary world, we prepare professionals capable of positioning themselves in a professional and disciplinary territory that requires a permanent redefinition of the scope and nature of their intervention. The objectives ensure general training in Architecture, guaranteeing the acquisition of skills that articulate different disciplinary areas of technical, scientific, humanistic and artistic expression, linked to architectural space, the city and the territory: acquisition of skills, mainly of a design nature, to be developed throughout the learning process; investigation, consideration and experimentation of architectural ideas, facts and knowledge, involving scientific, humanistic and artistic forms of thought and expression. This broad training offer makes FA. ULisboa the most diversified school in the country in its areas, with around 3 thousand students.

Integrated Master in Architecture
Integrated Master's

The Integrated Master in Architecture aims to train architects with high standards, capable of responding to contemporary challenges by integrating technical, professional, and humanistic competencies. It focuses on project-based learning, encouraging students to experiment with architectural knowledge related to human creations and inhabited spaces.

5 years (10 semesters)
Portuguese
For national and EU students, the annual tuition fee is approximately €697. For international students, the annual fee is €7000.
Deadline: Applications for undergraduate degree programs and 5-6 years post graduate degree programs: from 19th February to 15th April 2026.
Doctoral Program in Architecture
PhD

The Doctoral program in Architecture encompasses expertise in theory and practice of planning, history and theory, technology and construction management, conservation and renovation, design and computing. It involves a curricular year (60 ECTS) followed by research.

The tuition fees for doctoral programs are approximately €6,500 for three years.
Deadline: Applications have different deadlines, the first in April and the last in August.
Doctoral Program in Urban Planning
PhD

The Doctorate in Urban Planning addresses issues related to urban planning, design and management. The program includes a curricular year and research.
