The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Technology & Engineering, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, established in 1949, holds a long-standing reputation for architectural education since 1890, initially through Kalabhavan. It is housed in the heart of the campus and features studios, workshops, a computer lab, and a library. The undergraduate curriculum emphasizes architectural design through studio-based projects, integrating knowledge and skills from supporting subjects. It includes a mandatory one-semester (14 weeks minimum) office training program to provide practical field exposure. Currently, the department has a full-time enrollment of 200 students. Requirements
For Bachelor of Architecture: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects, or a 10+3 Diploma Examination in any stream with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. A valid score in the National Level Aptitude Test (NATA) as prescribed by the Council of Architecture (CoA) is required. Minimum aggregate marks of 50% for the Open Category and 45% for the Reserved Category in the 10+2 or Diploma examination are necessary. The total seat intake for B.Arch. is 40. The total tuition fee for the B.Arch. program for male candidates is ₹7,500 for five years; no fees are charged for female candidates as per ACPC Gujarat guidelines.
