La Matanza National University (UNLaM)

The Architecture program at La Matanza National University (UNLaM) is dedicated to generating new knowledge about habitat at architectural and urban scales. It aims to train critical and active professionals for the transformation of their communities. Students engage in learning, instrumentation, and knowledge-building experiences to develop a professional profile capable of evaluating contextual conditions and possibilities. The curriculum also prepares them to project and anticipate the transformation and re-signification of inhabited spaces, managing their material and productive realization. The program fosters an experimental and experiential learning environment, emphasizing hands-on practice through a testing methodology that promotes real solutions, analyzing and responding to habitat demands, from planning and design to management and execution, while considering socio-spatial impact and interfacing between tradition and innovation.
