About Grambling State University

Grambling State University, a historically black institution with a legacy dating back to 1901, stands as a testament to the power of education and community uplift. Founded on the principles of opportunity and access, Grambling's architecture reflects its enduring commitment to fostering intellectual growth and preserving African American history and culture. The campus features a blend of colonial structures built of red brick, stone, and glass. Nine buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Buildings in 2010, including Long-Jones Hall and Jewett Hall.
