About Florida International University

The FIU Department of Architecture is committed to the challenges and opportunities presented by Miami and South Florida. It focuses on academic excellence, innovation, building practices, climate justice, and leadership to prepare students for the complex challenges of the built environment. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the school offers a NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture and a Doctor of Design program, one of only five post-professional DDes programs nationwide. The department provides an exciting environment for experimentation and learning by making, utilizing facilities such as the Miami Beach Urban Studios (MBUS), Fabrication Lab, Structures and Environment Technologies (SET) Lab, and a Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab (RDF Lab). Faculty and students actively collaborate on research in historic preservation, climate, environment, technology, and building practice. FIU is also one of 25 architecture programs participating in the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) program.
