About Czech Technical University in Prague

The Faculty of Architecture at Czech Technical University in Prague is the oldest, largest, and most significant institution in the Czech Republic offering Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in architecture. It distinguishes itself as the only faculty of architecture in the country providing three core study programs: Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture, and Design. The faculty emphasizes a unique vertical studio teaching system, where students from the second to fifth year collaborate on projects, fostering direct feedback and a rich learning environment. It is also a prominent research and development institution in architecture and urban design. The faculty actively engages in international cooperation through student exchange programs and hosts various lectures and workshops with renowned foreign architects. In 2011, the faculty moved into a modern, purpose-built facility designed by architect Alena Šrámková, enhancing its teaching and research capabilities.

The Faculty of Architecture's doctoral study programs in Architecture and Urbanism are accredited in coherence with Act 111/1998 coll. on Higher Education, sec. 47. Master's degree programs in Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture, and Design, as well as Doctoral degree programs in Architecture and Urbanism and Design, are conducted in English. The architectural Master's degree provides access to the architectural profession in all EU member states in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EC on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications.
