The Bilkent University Department of Architecture aims to graduate students with architectural skills enabling them to practice globally. The curriculum is centered around design studios, offering an immersive learning experience from the first year, often in collaboration with other departments in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. This interdisciplinary approach introduces students to concepts like interiors, environmental design, urban design, and landscape architecture. Third and fourth-year studios allow for specialization. The curriculum integrates courses in mathematics, physics, arts, and culture, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency, environmental concerns, sustainability, and historical preservation. Summer practices prepare students for professional life. Graduates are well-prepared for employment in local and international architectural offices, government branches, or to establish their own practices, with opportunities in the growing construction sector. The department also encourages graduate studies at renowned universities worldwide. The department offers both undergraduate (B.Arch.) and graduate (M.Sc. in Architecture) programs.
