About Andhra University, India

The Department of Architecture at Andhra University was established in 1989 as a Division within the College of Engineering and gained departmental status in 2001. The program aims to train and educate students to be successful professionals, sensitive and responsive to their environment, and capable of creating sustainable built environments. Its mission is to develop creative skills through scientific knowledge to design humane built environments that respond to local contexts. The curriculum integrates studio projects with theoretical subjects, incorporates extensive case studies for practical experience, and fosters self-assessment through seminars and discussions. Study tours are organized to expose students to the diverse Indian architectural ethos. The department focuses on advancements in building and construction technology, sustainable development, and contributing to the country's infrastructural growth. It offers a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and a Postgraduate course in M. Planning (Environmental), started in 2006. Faculty members are actively engaged in consultancy, specializing in architectural design, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), town planning, climatology (energy-efficient built environment), landscape design, interior design, and ecology.

Requirements

0: Successful completion of 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as primary subjects, with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates).

1: A qualifying score in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or JEE Main Paper 2 scores.

2: Candidates who have passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate can also apply.
