About Leyte Institute of Technology

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), formerly known as Leyte Institute of Technology (1965-2004), was established in 1907 as the Leyte Provincial School. As a regional state higher education institution in Tacloban, Philippines, EVSU is mandated to provide advanced education, higher technological, professional instruction, and training across various fields, including architecture and engineering. It also focuses on research and extension services to provide progressive leadership. The School of Architecture and Allied Disciplines (SAAD) originated in 1976 as a four-year architecture course within the Civil Engineering Department, becoming a separate department in 1981-1982. SAAD offers Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Interior Design programs, consistently producing board placers and topnotchers in licensure examinations. EVSU's vision is to become a premier institution in the ASEAN region by 2040, dedicated to developing professionals for sustainable development.
