The School of Architecture, Building and Environment (SABE) at TU Dublin aims to be a leader in third-level, professional, practice- and work-based education and research for professions involved in planning, designing, building, making, and managing places. Its work is underpinned by accessibility, diversity, and innovation. The school leverages its unique heritage and strengths to contribute to local, regional, and national objectives, including Ireland's Project 2040 targets related to Climate Action and Housing for All, as well as broader EU Green Deal and global Sustainable Development Goals. SABE is actively engaged in applied research concerning critical challenges within the built, spatial, and natural environments. This is supported by an internationally and locally networked community of research students, researchers, and partners, with a focus on promoting research career development. The curriculum emphasizes a pedagogy of practice-based and work-based education in studio, workshop, on-site, and in-field settings across its programs, fostering excellence in project-based learning, continuous formative assessment, and iterative design processes.
