The Architectural and Building Technology Certificate (Part-time) satisfies some academic requirements for the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC), Building Officials Association of British Columbia (BOABC), and Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia (IDIBC).

1: English language proficiency (e.g., English Studies 12 with 67%, or specific scores on Duolingo English Test (120 overall, no subscore less than 95), IELTS Academic (6.5 overall, no band less than 5.5), or TOEFL (86 overall, no section score less than 20)).
2: Submission of a Mandatory Applicant Questionnaire and a Course by Course Self-Assessment Form.
3: A design-related portfolio showcasing work that demonstrates a strong understanding of design.
4: Preference is given to applicants with requirements completed within the last five years and those with a BCIT Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology with a minimum 70% course average in Architectural or Building Science elective streams.
