About The Art Institutes International Minnesota
The Art Institutes International Minnesota, originally established in 1964 as Lowthian College, provided focused, career-oriented training in visual and practical arts. Acquired by The Art Institutes in 1997, the institution offered certificate, associate, and bachelor's degrees, preparing students for creative industries. Located in downtown Minneapolis, the campus provided a dynamic, urban setting for aspiring designers, architects and culinary experts. The school’s curriculum emphasized hands-on experience and portfolio development, ensuring graduates were ready to contribute meaningfully to the built environment and creative sectors. Though its legacy was cut short by its closure in 2019, The Art Institutes International Minnesota played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of creative professionals in the region.
