Interboro Institute for Business

Interboro Institute was a two-year degree-granting institution based in New York City with over 100 years of experience. It prepared students for careers in fields such as Computer Technology, Security Services and Management, Business Management, Ophthalmic Dispensing, and Paralegal Studies. Founded in 1888, the institute offered Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) and Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) degrees. It expanded from its initial midtown Manhattan location to instructional sites in Flushing, Washington Heights, and Yonkers. The institute fostered student involvement in professional and social organizations, including orientation, class night, and graduation ceremonies, alongside workshops and discussions on student-related topics. The college ceased operations and closed permanently in 2007. According to 2006 data, the college completion rate was 33% for students graduating in less than 4 years and 40% for those graduating in 4 years or more. Earlier data shows that 10% of new students starting in fall 1998 graduated by fall 2001, and 13.5% of students starting in fall 1999 graduated by spring 2002.
