Headquartered in Rosenheim, Germany, its mission is to provide objective information and a holistic approach to building biology, operating independently. Building biology studies the intricate connections between humans and their built environment, viewing homes as integral to human well-being. The institute offers educational programs, public outreach, research, and training in building biology and sustainability. Services include consulting for new construction, renovation, and remediation, alongside assessing materials and properties for pollutants. IBN also conducts inspections using the Standard of Building Biology Testing Methods (SBM) to evaluate health risks in living and working spaces.
