About Ecosa Institute

The Ecosa Institute for Ecological Design is a nonprofit educational organization focused on promoting sustainable design practices that integrate environmental responsibility, human well-being, and ecological principles. Founded by architect and designer Tony Brown in 1996 in Prescott, Arizona, Ecosa moved to Denver, Colorado in 2025. Its programs train students and professionals in regenerative design, ecological thinking, and sustainable architecture. Ecosa advocates a radical departure from the traditional approach to teaching design, offering in-depth, cross-disciplinary, hands-on programs that tackle real-world problems. It focuses on the power of design both to mitigate the environmental damage our buildings, cities and products perpetrate, and to recreate a positive and intentional relationship between human beings and the natural world.
