All Hallows Institute

All Hallows High School, formerly known as All Hallows Institute, is a Catholic co-ed high school located at 111 East 164th Street in the South Bronx, New York. Established in 1909 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, it has a long history of educating immigrant and lower-income students, originally all-male before transitioning to co-educational. The school is known for its strong academic programs and its success in preparing students for higher education, with 100% of its graduates routinely accepted into four-year colleges. However, facing decades of financial distress, declining enrollment, and the significant cost of maintaining an aging building, the school announced it will close its doors permanently in June 2025.
