Delgado Community College

The Architectural/Design Construction Technology Program at Delgado Community College trains students in the design and construction of homes, schools, commercial, industrial, and public buildings and community projects. It also covers the upkeep, repair, modification, renovation, restoration, and modernization of existing buildings. Graduates acquire the skills to produce drawings for building infrastructures, as well as supervise and inspect the construction of residential and commercial buildings. Alumni often work as technical management personnel for architects, engineers, design-builders, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, technical construction material sales companies, or government agencies. Many graduates also establish their own businesses as licensed home builders, contractors, remodelers, and architectural designers/builders. The Associate of Applied Science degree program provides a foundation for students and can transfer to four-year institutions for a bachelor's degree in related fields.
