The College of William & Mary

The College of William & Mary's Department of Art & Art History offers training in architecture within the context of a liberal arts education. The program cultivates proficiency in the practices of the artist and the creative process. Students learn the fundamental aspects of the design process, historic context, urbanism and sustainable building methods and technologies. The program emphasizes collaboration, critical inquiry, creative problem-solving, innovation, and socially and environmentally-minded practice. Situated in the culturally and architecturally-rich Williamsburg, students have the opportunity to engage in global project collaborations, education abroad experiences, and international competitions.
