About Pillai's College of Architecture, Panvel

Pillai College of Architecture (PiCA), established in 1992 by Mahatma Education Society, is an autonomous institution affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It is recognized by the Council of Architecture (COA) and the Government of Maharashtra. PiCA aims to impart comprehensive architectural education, producing professionals sensitive to sustainable development and contributing meaningfully to societal socio-cultural aspirations. The college offers Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.), B.Sc. in Interior Design, Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) (General), and Ph.D. programs in Architecture. PiCA is also an authorized NATA test center. In 2024-25, the University Grants Commission (UGC) conferred autonomous status to PiCA for ten years, making it the only autonomous architecture college in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region affiliated with the University of Mumbai. It was also ranked 1st by the Times of India Survey for academic performance among private legacy colleges in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Requirements

B.Arch: Passed HSC or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate. OR Passed (10+3) Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate. Must qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e. JEE) or 'NATA' (minimum 40% marks).

M.Arch (General): Passed Bachelor Degree in Architecture from All India Council for Technical Education or Council of Architecture or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks for Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only). Obtained score in CET.

Ph.D. Programme in Architecture: Master's degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
