The Poojya Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji School of Architecture, formerly the Department of Architecture, PDA College of Engineering, Kalaburagi, was established in 1984. It strictly adheres to the Architectural Education Regulations, 2020, set by the Council of Architecture (COA). The department is distinguished as a "State resource center" for specialized training in "Earthquake Resistant Architecture," a significant initiative under a national program by the National Institute of Disaster Management. In 2019, the department was formally renamed in commemoration of the late Dr. Shivakumar Swamiji. The school is dedicated to continually advancing its teaching methodologies with cutting-edge technology, fostering innovative research, and ensuring the comprehensive development and successful placement of its students through robust collaborations with alumni and industry partners. The initial student intake of 40 was increased to 80 in 2015, reflecting the program's growth and demand.
