About Morrisville State College

The Architectural Studies & Design, A.S. program at SUNY Morrisville offers a hands-on, studio-centric experience with a strong emphasis on applied technology. The curriculum is designed to develop students' creative, functional, and programmatic problem-solving abilities, encouraging them to make culturally and environmentally responsive design decisions. Creative design choices are informed by historical, social, and sustainable influences, preparing students for the evolving architectural discourse. The program is housed in the LEED-Certified Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, providing students with 24/7 access to studios, photography areas, light tables, copying/scanning/plotting machines, a computer-aided design studio equipped with a 3D printer, and a comprehensive model shop featuring a laser cutter, band saws, sanding stations, scroll saws, and a table saw. Industry-standard architectural software is readily available via the college network and in the CAD studio. This program is specifically designed to prepare graduates for successful transfer into professional or pre-professional baccalaureate programs in architecture or related fields.
