About Mindanao Polytechnic State College

Mindanao Polytechnic College (MPC), formerly Mindanao Polytechnic School (MPS), was established in February 1980 by Capt. Arturo A. Aguilar, MM, and Susan R. Aguilar. It began as the only maritime school in the Soccsksargen area, initially renting buildings downtown before moving to its current three-hectare campus in June 1981. MPC aims to be a premier educational institution in Southern Philippines, fostering integrity, honesty, transparency, and intellectual excellence. The college is committed to the total development of individuals through an integrated educational program of instruction, research, and community involvement, responsive to national and global challenges. MPC achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification in 2015 and is transitioning to ISO 9001:2015, demonstrating its dedication to quality management. It is notably the only school in Mindanao to offer the Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (BSNAME) as of SY 2017-2018.
