About Broward College

Broward College's Architecture program emphasizes a fully hands-on approach in the way you explore and learn architecture. From the first design course, students work directly in three dimensions, creating physical and electronic models of their ideas. The curriculum focuses on defining architectural space, applying various architectural principles, and understanding the technical aspects of drawing and design, compositional elements of architecture as an art form, and the realities of architecture and construction. The program provides working knowledge of current computer-aided design software, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, for design, production, and information analysis. It also covers architectonic elements, principles, and aesthetics in historical and contemporary architecture, with an emphasis on analyzing and resolving natural and man-made environmental contexts as generators of design ideas.
