Structural vs. Cosmetic: Why We Aren't Just a 'Pretty Portfolio' Tool
There are 100 tools to make a pretty portfolio. There is only one tool to verify a career. The difference is under the hood: Database Logic over Stylistic Logic.

The "Skin" Trap
Squarespace. Wix. Cargo. Behance. They all sell "Skin."
- "Make it look beautiful."
- "Choose your font."
- "Parallax scrolling!"
They focus on the Container. They assume the value is in the Presentation.
The "Skeleton" Focus
Archade focuses on the Content Structure. We are not a website builder. We are a Career Database. We don't care if you use Helvetica or Inter (though we default to beautiful typography). We care about the Relationships.
1. Entity Resolution
In a text box on Wix, "Gensler" is just a string of letters. On Archade, "Gensler" is a Unique Entity ID pointing to a specific firm node. This ensures that if you search for the firm, you find the people. If you check the people, you find the firm.
2. Role Taxonomy
On a PDF, you can write "Master of the Universe." On Archade, you select from a standardized Taxonomy.
- Principal
- Project Architect
- Job Captain
- Designer
This standardization allows Recruiters to filter. "Show me candidates who have been a Job Captain." You can't filter a PDF. You can filter a Database.
3. Time Series Logic
We enforce chronological logic. You cannot claim you designed a building in 2024 if the building was finished in 2020. The system flags the anomaly. This enforces Integrity.
Why Structure Beats Skin
"Skin" gets you a compliment. "Structure" gets you a job. Recruiters and Clients aren't fooled by parallax scrolling. They are professional bullshit detectors. They are looking for data integrity.
If your portfolio is just a pretty picture, it is "Single-Ply." If it is backed by a graph, it is "Structural."
The "Database of Record"
We built the Database of Record for the industry. You can put a pretty skin on it if you want (API coming soon), but the value is in the record itself. Just like a bank statement creates value not because it looks nice, but because the numbers are real.
